The brief does not have to be a long document. His job is to gather background data and help the studio ask the right questions.
Describe the task and goal
What exactly needs to be created and why? For example, updating the visual image, preparing advertising for launch, or putting together a system for regular publications. The clearer the goal, the easier it is to choose a work format.
Show context
Talk about the product, audience, competitors, and existing materials. Examples of what you like and what doesn't seem right are helpful. It is important to explain the reasons, not just provide links.
Designate the framework
Indicate the desired timing, placement channels and people who make the decision. If you don’t have an exact budget yet, that’s normal: the scope of work and cost can be clarified after talking with the manager.
Leave room for discussion
A good brief opens up a dialogue. In the process, it may become clear that the original set of materials should be changed. Then the scope of work, timing and cost change - this needs to be agreed upon before the next stage.
